Amazon at its annual fall hardware event, which held last night announced updates to its entire line-up of Echo smart speaker, aka the Echo Dot, Echo dot with Clock, and Echo alongside the all-new Fire TV Stick. The Echo, in its fourth generation, is a spherical orb now with its hallmark LED light ring at the base (in the above image). The standard Echo is getting the greatest update this year that it is no longer “standard” in Amazon’s Echo range. It is, in fact, the highest-end model now combining the “best of Echo” with the Zigbee smart home capabilities of Echo Plus.
According to Amazon, apart from its updated design and smart Fourth-Gen Echo should “significantly” better too. Echo comes with a 3.0-inch woofer and dual-firing tweeters for the stereo output with its Echo Studio-like adaptive audio credentials that allow it to automatically sense the environment and deliver the best possible sound. The new Echo Dot offered by Amazon supports Low Power Mode for energy savings. In addition to it, the Echo Dot with Clock’s tap-to-snooze feature will soon arrive on the Echo Dot and Echo.
Amazon is offering it in two variants, first is an All-new Echo Dot with a fabric cover all around it rather than good-looking Alexa-light and another is an Echo Dot with a clock shining through its fabric cover. In India, the price of the Echo dot is Rs.4499. The Echo Dot with Clock for Rs.5,499. And the Echo for Rs 9,999. Also, Amazon announced an Echo Dot kids edition that comes with cute animal face designs on them, which will be for the price of Rs 5,499. Although, Echo Dot has a shipping window available just for now. It is now available for pre-order and will start shipping from Oct 26. Amazon will begin the shipping of Echo Dot from November 5th, and the kid’s edition will ship from the 9th of December.
