The latest trend we can see in smartphones is the use of high megapixel cameras. The trend started earlier this year with 48MP cameras which are designed with pixel binning to create better 12MP shots. Since then the trend spread like wildfire and now pretty much all new smartphone models from mid-range to flagship phones like OnePlus 7 has high megapixel cameras.
The next logical step is to introduce even more megapixels. This has already given rise to new smartphones with 64MP sensors. We already have such phones entering the market with Realme XT and Redmi Note 8 Pro. These are the first two smartphones to feature 64MP cameras. Following the trend, even Samsung, the makers of 64MP image sensor wants to come with their phone with 64MP camera. This can be seen in the Samsung Galaxy A70s which is a new entry in their A-line series of mid-range smartphones.
The Galaxy A70s is pretty much similar to the Galaxy A70. It comes with a 4,400 mAH battery along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 system-on-chip. The phone’s physical dimension is very close to Galaxy A70. There is only one major difference and that is Galaxy A70s comes with 64MP ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor. This is its main camera sensors. The sensor is made by Samsung itself for its use in their new smartphone.
But for now, we don’t know the release date of the device. However, according to some reports, the device is expected to launch this month. This means we are not very far from the release date. From the above-mentioned features,, we know that Galaxy A70s is going to be a camera-oriented update of Galaxy A70. There is nothing more to look forward to other than the 64MP camera sensor. This tells us that Samsung may go for a quiet release instead of a full-blown launch event.
